Setting Food Diet for Diabetes Melitus Patients

Controlling blood sugar levels should be performed routinely in various ways, such as healthy lifestyle, diligent physical activity, consumption of drugs that lower blood sugar, injecting insulin and regulate the types of foods for diabetics. Every patient with diabetes should be careful when choosing the type of food. The wrong type of food can make normal glucose levels have to be increased again. Diabetes is caused due to high levels of glucose in the blood. Patients with diabetes need to maintain glucose levels to be at normal or near-normal conditions. in this case the food consumed should contain complex carbohydrates and high in fiber. Diet foods for diabetics as follows:

1. Carbohydrates - Carbohydrates are safe for diabetics because it contains low glucose levels including brown rice, cassava, yam and cereal fiber.

 

2. Vegetables and Fruits - Diabetic patients are advised to consume vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, cabbage, beans, peppers, peas, beans and starfruit. Fruits are recommended for people with diabetes include apple, guava, dragon fruit, peach, pear, starfruit, grapefruit, kiwi, cherries and berries. If the fruit is consumed in benetuk juice, without added sugar recommended.

 

3. low-fat source of protein - foods low-fat sources of protein include skinless chicken, fish, skim milk, yogurt, tofu and tempeh.


 

4. Fatty foods and sugary - This type of food consumed in the least amount that comes out the top of the pyramid. Patients with diabetes should consume foods for diabetics that have carbohydrate, protein, fat, minerals and vitamins in the day-to-day.

Dietary adjustments is the key treatment of diabetes mellitus.
